Petronella Phillips Devaney
Petronella Phillips Devaney MA, PG Dip.Psych., MBACP.
I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Relationship Counsellor with over twenty years’ experience of working widely in both organisational and NHS settings, as well as in private practice in Central London.
My work with clients covers a range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, life changes, and relationship difficulties.
My style is integrative. I combine psychodynamic psychotherapy with MBT (mindfulness-based therapies), CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), EFT (emotionally focussed therapy) and other specific modalities. I aim to provide the opportunity for clients to better understand and resolve the problems and challenges they may be struggling with.
Honouring diversity and inclusivity is of prime importance to me. I work empathically with clients across the spectrum of sexual orientation, gender, race, and religious identity.
My special interests as a therapist include Jungian psychology, psycho-spiritual and psycho-sexual therapies. I am privileged to work with clients who are seeking accompaniment in their journey of personal growth and development.
In addition to my clinical work, I have written and given seminars and workshops on a range of Jungian themes. As a published novelist and poet, a deep fascination with people and their stories lies at the heart of everything I do as a writer and as a therapist.
I am a fully registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and an accredited member of the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society).
