Evan Bates

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, providing both long and short term therapy for individuals.  I offer a non-judgemental and reflective space to help you explore your difficulties and concerns.  Working together to understand the connections between past and current relationships, I will support you in developing a deeper awareness of recurring emotional patterns and further insight into your internal world.  Through insight and empathy, I will help you to work through the emotional challenges you’re facing.

I work with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, loss and bereavement, sexuality, identity, work and career.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).  I hold an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling/Psychotherapy having trained at Birkbeck, University of London.  I currently work in private practice in Fitzrovia, Soho, and West London.  I have a background in Higher Education both in student counselling, and in Organisational Development.

We would start with an initial session, this gives you an opportunity to outline your current circumstances, for us to think about what you need from therapy, and if this would work for you.  If you decide to continue, sessions would then be weekly.
