Shona Kydd
My name is Shona Kydd. I am a qualified BACP therapist who is passionately committed to delving into the complexity of the human experience. I do that with deep empathy, compassion, and a profound respect for each individual’s unique journey. Every person’s path is distinct and shapes us in different ways. I customise my approach to cater specifically to the needs of each of my clients.
I work collaboratively and strive to cultivate enhanced self-awareness and personal growth. Within this nurturing therapeutic space, my clients are empowered to examine their life patterns. This helps them uncover the obstacles that may be stopping their progress. I support clients facing various challenges such as trauma, anxiety, grief, PTSD, OCD, addiction, stress, relationships, health anxiety, low self-esteem, shame, and many more.
My approach to therapy is shaped by the client and their needs. I believe the relationship forged together is at the heart of the work. In the collaborative space I create we can explore whatever is coming up for them with curiosity, care, and compassion. Clients may be navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, work stress, limiting patterns or shifting moods. My aim is to support clients, helping them to navigate challenging experiences towards further growth and healing.
My foundational training in Psychosynthesis enables me to provide clients with holistic and integrative skills that assist in overcoming both past and present challenges while facilitating a clearer direction for the future. I incorporate a broad range of models and tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each client, resulting in impactful therapy.
My approach integrates a range of effective therapeutic techniques, drawing from psychosynthesis, CBT, breath work, somatic practices, IFS and Subpersonality work. This allows me to address both immediate challenges and deeper patterns. Thus our work together aligns with where you are right now.
My training is accredited by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I adhere to the ethics of these professional bodies and their required standards for safe and effective therapy.
