Julia Oji is a qualified acupuncturist and registered Member of the British Acupuncture Council. She has been practising Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) since 1994. Julia trained initially in tui na (Chinese massage therapy) in London and Nanjing China before going on to be awarded a Licentiate in Acupuncture from the London College of Traditional Acupuncture.
In her practice Julia often combines acupuncture and tui na, using the two therapies in a complementary way. She also utilises the ancient Chinese techniques of cupping and gua sha to enhance her treatments. Cupping and Gua Sha are well-known for speeding up the release of tension and pain during massage. Julia can also offer personalised cosmetic facial acupuncture treatments.
In addition to running private practices in London and Canterbury, Julia is a passionate teacher. She helped to establish one of the UK’s first Tui Na Diploma courses. Julia has been a TCM lecturer and clinic coordinator since 2000.
Aside from TCM, Julia has a specialist interest in the lymphatic system. She is a qualified practitioner of the Vodder method of manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) and registered Member of MLD UK. As well as treating general symptoms of poor lymphatic circulation, she is qualified to offer bespoke decongestive therapy for those suffering with complex lymphatic conditions. Those include primary or secondary lymphoedema and lipoedema (including measuring for compression wear), plus post-cosmetic surgery rehabilitation.
